Good Vibes

Last Sunday, a fellow Cebuana FA wannabe (hi grace! ) texted me about Air Philippines looking for cabin crew trainees. I was just recovering from fever so I told her that I'll visit their office near the airport once I feel well. I was also having some second thoughts on going for an interview since I haven't flown Air Philippines and I'm not really sure if they have "good working conditions" for their cabin crews. Information about their crew is even limited over the internet.

Anyway, after thorough deliberation, I found my way to Mactan Airport and to the Air Phil office 2 days ago.
I also wanted to experience how it is to be interviewed and scrutinized again to get myself used to it for similar future interviews. Grace was already done with the interview that morning. She was told that they will call her once they already have the cabin crew training schedule training this month.

When I arrived there, I waited for the one in-charge for around half an hour. He then asked for my resume and called me after a few minutes. He told me that he was from HR-Manila.
He checked my height, elbows, legs and face. He made me walk, turn around and told me to sit down for the interview. As far as I can remember, his questions were:
(not really verbatim and not in particular order)

How did you know about the job posting?
Tell me what do you usually do on a typical weekend?
Have you dealt with a difficult person before?
What do you think of Christmas and New Year?
What are your hobbies, interests?
What are your phobias?
Tell me what do you know about flight attendants. What's a typical day like for one?
How do you see five years from now?

Afterwards, he told me that I can already breathe a sigh of relief because I passed the interview. He asked again for my contact numbers because they will contact us within the month regarding their cabin crew training schedule.

Isn't that great? I hope QR and EK will do the same recruitment process, hahha. But that would be impossible.
And I'm glad EK is coming over next month in Cebu to conduct an assessment. But I'd have to pass IPAMS' screening first. I've never been into one but judging from blog posts and forum comments, it's not a walk in the park.

Well, let's just wait and see.
The Chinese New Year is just around the corner so hopefully, I'll soar high in the Year of the Tiger, my year!
Sometimes, when I daydream, I think of how cool it will be when all the FA wannabe bloggers get to achieve their dreams and then we'll all see each other in airports, ^_^.

  1. Hi sis! Congrats! I'm happy for you. Btw, you're right, it will be totally cool if we achieve our goals. I'm sure we all will, in the right time. God bless us! :)
